Description / Overview:
This project intends to support the Syrian Government in conducting a socio-economic assessment of displaced Iraqis living in Syria. Over an eight-month period, the project, which will be implemented by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will produce three main outputs, namely: i) defining the number, geographical location, and socioeconomic characteristics of displaced Iraqis in Syria; ii) analyzing the overall development impact of the Iraqi movement on Syria as a receiving country as well as on the displaced Iraqi populations assessing the capacity of the Syrian Government to contend with and address the impact; and iii) proposing operational responses that mitigate the negative and maximize the positive developmental impact of the population movement and presenting them in a donor round-table meeting.
